Design Archive

Welcome to my DESIGN ARCHIVE, a curated collection showcasing the culmination of three years of projects during my time at SCI-Arc, delving deep into fundamental architectural studies. At the core of this journey lies a profound exploration of geometric principles, serving as the foundational point for generating innovative forms.

/ Digital Rendering Reproduce of Smoke by Tony Smith

Through the study of Tony Smith’s Smoke, the geometry relationship becomes the key point for the matrix. The tetrahedron and stretched octahedral composed the matrix and the modular cell can be extracted from the wire frame diagram of the system. For the next step, the cell become as a start point to generate the hybrid cell.

/ / Hybrid Cell For Form Development
In this step, the ambiguity of geometry plays the big role. The hybrid cell comes from half cell and half cube, which can be aligned from top view as a hexagon.

/ Physical Study Model

The relationship of poche and cladding in process. They came out from the same wire frame and have more than 50% same surfaces and when they come together, they create space and cover from each other, which can be convert to the space and elements in architecture latter.

/ Project Site Plan and Elevation

The program of this project is a public library. The space inside poche, inbetween the poche and cladding, and indication of the space from cladding only brings the discussion about how to design spaces with geometry.
